I have always had an interest in natural healing and alternative eastern medicine, so when an opportunity came up to live in central china for a few months in 2011 i jumped at the chance.

Living in Chengdu located in central China was an eye opening experience especially when it came to eating and drinking. It was not unusual to see pretty young girls walking down the street chewing on a chicken foot or groups of young men having a laugh over a shared hot pot.

Whilst not all of it was to my liking (pigs tail anyone?!) i did discover a few thing that i fell in love with, one of those being Chinese Chrysanthemum and red date tea.
